چکیده
Myoepithelial cells are normally present in the breast localized between epithelial cells and the basal lamina of secretory elements of the mammary duct system (1,2). Tumors derived from these cells have been described in skin, salivary glands, breast and lungs (1,2). Adenomyoepithelioma (AME) of the breast is a rare lesion, and usually affects adult female patients (1,2). Rare cases have been described in males (3,4). It usually presents as a palpable nodule, ranging from 0.5 cm to 7 cm at its greatest diameter (1,2). AME has a bicellular pattern consisting of epithelial and myoepithelial cells, ABSTRACT

Malignant adenomyoepithelioma of the breast with matrix production may be compatible with one variant form of matrix-producing carcinoma: a case report.
We examined a 77-year-old woman who suffered from a left breast tumor. She had undergone right mastectomy for invasive ductal carcinoma at 68 years of age, and rectal resection for mucinous carcinoma at the age of 74 years. The left breast tumor measured 3.8 x 2.5 x 1.6 cm. Neoplastic cells consisted of atypical epithelial and myoepithelial cells. The former cells were polygonal and large. They...
متن کاملMedullary Breast Carcinoma and Invasive Ductal Carcinoma: A Review Study
Background: Medullary breast carcinoma (MBC) is a unique histological subtype of breast cancer. The present study aimed to evaluate the classic and non-classic characteristics of MBC and its differences with IDC. The present review study incorporates 22 years of practical experience from a breast disease research center-based series of cases. Methods: Retrospectively, the medical records of 3,24...
متن کاملImmunohistochemical Evaluation of Human p53 Tumor Suppressor Protein Content in Ductal Carcinoma in Situ of the Breast
The focus of this study was to determine if early detection of mutant p53 accumulation may be an early indicator of tumor aggressiveness and transformation to invasive breast cancer. For this purpose, the p53 content of 100 human breast biopsies classified as ductal carcinoma (DCIS), was evaluated by immunohistochemical method. All specimens were microscopically classified into histologic types...
متن کاملMetaplastic Carcinoma with Extensive Chondroid Differentiation in the Breast (Chondroid Carcinoma)
Metaplastic breast carcinoma is very rare, and metaplastic carcinoma with chondroid differentiation is even rarer. Here, we report a case of metaplastic carcinoma with extensive chondroid differentiation mimicking chondrosarcoma that was challenging to diagnose. The tumor was characterized by an abundant chondromyxoid matrix. The definitive area of classic invasive ductal carcinoma was minimal....
متن کاملStudy of the Expression of miR-4270 in Plasma of Patients with Breast Invasive Ductal Carcinoma
Detection of tumor-specific microRNAs (miRs) in the blood of cancer patients may provide a unique and valuable biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis. The aim of this study was to investigate whether plasma levels of microRNA-4270 could serve as a potential marker for breast invasive ductal carcinoma. A total of 40 breast cancer patients and 28 controls were recruited in this study. Total RNA wa...
